Notes

"Don't gild the lily" is a common thought-terminating holism statement. It must be recognized that interpretation itself must be evaluated. The very act of interpretation transfers lived-experience into a shadow world of 'meanings'. Our task is not to dull ourselves with extracting maximum meaning, much less extract more meaning than exists. Our task is to strip away meaning so we can see anything at all.[1] The act of opening additional explorative pathways within a scientific reductionism of art only adds additional pathways towards its aesthetic experience.[2]
